Fluoridation vote on May 5 Oneida Council agenda

ONEIDA – Fluoridation of the water supply will be put to a vote at the May 5 Oneida Common Council meeting according to an agenda released Friday.

Among other agenda items, the council will receive and place on file a form notifying the city of the intent of the Kallet Civic Center to file for an On-Premises Alcoholic Beverage License through the state Liquor Authority.

Council will consider signing an agreement with the Herkimer-Oneida Comprehensive Planning Program to re-district the city’s six wards, at a cost of $5,600.

Council will also vote to move forward with West Elm Street Sewer and Water Main extension projects which were tabled from a previous meeting until more discussion could be had on the projects.

In other agenda items, council will consider scheduling a public hearing for May 19 at 6:30 p.m. to hear input on a proposed ordinance to change the zoning of a state Route 5 parcel, from “neighborhood commercial” to “commercial”. The parcel in question is adjacent to the eastern boundary of the NYE Automotive group property.

The Tuesday, May 5 meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the Oneida Common Council chambers located at 109 North Main Street in Oneida.
