To the editor:

Thanks to state Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr, R-Gloucester, and thanks to the indefatigable Karen Spencer, the vital issue of fluoridation is again being considered at the State House.

Last week, I submitted these three points to the Joint Committee on Environment and Natural Resources (LEG):

  • Fluoride is poison.
  • Safety measures are meaningless, because they do not take account of fluoride accumulation in our soft organs.
  • Fluoride dispersed in the oceans eventually damages the fish.

On Thursday, Andrea Bolduc, a research analyst for the committee (JointCommittee.Environment@malegislature.gov), kindly informed me that the committee will carefully review my written testimony.

People of Gloucester will you weigh in on this vital issue?

Carmine Gorga, Ph.D.
