LEWISTOWN — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has selected the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Lewistown as one of only two water systems in Pennsylvania to receive the 2020 Water Quality Award.
This CDC award recognizes public water systems that adjust the fluoride concentration in drinking water and have achieved an average reading between the lowest and highest recommended fluoridation levels for 12 consecutive months in a calendar year.
A formal presentation of the award will be made by PA’s Physician General, Dr. Denise Johnson, at the Water Works Operators’ Association Annual Awards Luncheon on Oct. 4 in Boalsburg.
At the time of the presentation, MABL will have changed to the Mifflin County Municipal Authority.
