The fluoride in the village’s water supply is finally making its return.

Wellington announced that fluoride will be re-introduced to the water on May 15, nearly a year after the Village Council unanimously voted to re-introduce it in the water supply.

The village will add fluoride to get a dosage of 0.7 mg/l, which is recommended by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Fluoride has been shown to help with dental health, but some are against the idea because they see it as forced medication.
