Abstract
Objective: To understand the relationship of dental fluorosis and IQ among children in a high fluoride area and further study the harm of high fluoride to the human body.
Method: High fluoride areas (from drinking water) in Qi County were selected as the site of investigation. The subjects of the study were 7-to-10-year-old children. Dental fluorosis was diagnosed using the Dean Index, and IQ was determined with the Chinese combined Raven’s test.
Results: The average IQ among the children in the high fluoride area was 98.06 and the rate of mental retardation was 5.47%. Intelligence distribution in the children with and without dental fluorosis did not show any difference, and no sex-specific differences in intelligence were found.
Conclusions: The long-term consumption of high fluoride water may adversely affect children’s intelligence.

Dose dependence of prenatal fluoride exposure associations with cognitive performance at school age in three prospective studies.
Background Fluoride may be a developmental neurotoxicant at elevated exposures. We merged new data from a prospective [Danish] Odense Child Cohort (OCC) with results from two previous birth cohort studies from Mexico and Canada to characterize the dose–effect relationship in greater detail. Methods The OCC contributed 837 mother–child pairs to the total of

Associations Between Prenatal Fluoride Exposure and Performance IQ in Canadian Preschool Aged Children: A Multilevel Modeling Approach.
BACKGROUND AND AIM: Prenatal fluoride exposure is associated with reduced IQ in children, especially Performance IQ (PIQ; nonverbal intelligence), but studies have not accounted for hierarchical clustering. We examined the association between sex-specific prenatal fluoride exposure and PIQ using multilevel modeling (MLM) to account for nesting of 448 mother-child pairs

Dental fluorosis and urinary fluoride concentration as a reflection of fluoride exposure and its impact on IQ level and BMI of children of Laxmisagar, Simlapal Block of Bankura District, W.B., India
There has been growing public concern about intellectual performance of children at high levels of fluoride exposure. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Simlapal Block of Bankura District, West Bengal, to find out the relationship between fluoride (F) exposure as exposure dose (ED) with dental fluorosis (DF), urinary fluoride concentration

Fluoride exposure and reported learning disability diagnosis among Canadian children: Implications for community water fluoridation.
OBJECTIVES: Recent studies have connected increased fluoride exposure with increased risk of neurodevelopmental-related outcomes, such as ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and lower IQ in children. Our primary objective was to examine the association between fluoride exposure and reported diagnosis of a learning disability among a population-based sample of Canadian

The effect of fluorine on the level of intelligence in children.
Recently, many researchers and scholars have studied about the effects of the trace element, iodine, on the level of intelligence in children. However there has been little coverage or noise about the same effect of fluorine on children. For this purpose we have performed some research and the results are as follows.

Fluoride Affects Learning & Memory in Animals
An association between elevated fluoride exposure and reduced intelligence has now been observed in 65 IQ studies. Although a link between fluoride and intelligence might initially seem surprising or random, it is actually consistent with a large body of animal research. This animal research includes the following 45 studies (out

Fluoride's Effect on Fetal Brain
The human placenta does not prevent the passage of fluoride from a pregnant mother's bloodstream to the fetus. As a result, a fetus can be harmed by fluoride ingested pregnancy. Based on research from China, the fetal brain is one of the organs susceptible to fluoride poisoning. As highlighted by the excerpts

Fluoride: Developmental Neurotoxicity.
Developmental Neurotoxicity There has been a tremendous amount of research done on the association of exposure to fluoride with developmental neurotoxicity. There are 78 studies reporting reduced IQ (75 studies with children and 3 studies with adults) and several on the impaired learning/memory in animals. And there are studies which link

Fluoride's Direct Effects on Brain: Animal Studies
The possibility that fluoride ingestion may impair intelligence and other indices of neurological function is supported by a vast body of animal research, including over 40 studies that have investigated fluoride's effects on brain quality in animals. As discussed by the National Research Council, the studies have consistently demonstrated that fluoride, at widely varying concentrations, is toxic to the brain.
