Note: See the Updated list of fluoride IQ studies at https://fluoridealert.org/researchers/fluoride-iq-studies/the-fluoride-iq-studies/ • As of July 18, 2022, a total of 85 human studies have investigated the relationship between fluoride and human intelligence. • Of these investigations, 76 studies have reported that elevated fluoride exposure is associated with reduced IQ in humans. • The studies which […]

  • Fluoride’s Effect on Male Reproductive System: Animal Studies

Over 60 studies on animals (including rats, mice, roosters, and rabbits) have found that fluoride adversely impacts the male reproductive system. These studies have repeatedly found the following effects: (1) decreases in testosterone levels; (2) reduced sperm motility; (3) altered sperm morphology; (4) reduced sperm quantity; (5) increased oxidative stress; (6) and reduced capacity to breed.

  • The Lancet: Fluoride Studies in a Patient with Arthritis

It is possible that fluoride intake from tea may be sufficient to cause fluorosis, and I report here a case which gives some evidence for this.

  • Perfluorinated Chemicals

What do we know about perfluorinated chemicals? We know that their breakdown into the environment has to be measured in geologic time frames, that some have been classified as carcinogens, and that they are now found in human blood and wildlife across the globe. These chemicals were made for decades by large corporations such as […]

  • The New Professionals’ Statement

UPDATE: The New Professionals’ Statement The original ”Professionals’ Call for an End to Water Fluoridation”  sign-on statement (circulated from 2007- 2018) was triggered by the disturbing scientific evidence of fluoride’s dangers as presented in the report on the toxicology of fluoride by the National Research Council of the National Academies in 2006. By October 2018 […]

  • FAN’s Translation Project

Overview To help promote greater scientific and medical understanding about fluoride’s impact on human health, particularly its effect on the brain, the Fluoride Action Network regularly accesses and translates studies published in non-English language journals. Prior to being translated, most of these studies had never been available to western audiences and were therefore rarely considered […]

  • Diabetes

Diabetes mellitus is a potentially life-threatening disease, in which the body fails to properly regulate blood sugar levels. Diabetes mellitus affects nearly 26 million people in the U.S. alone—with 7 million of these remaining undiagnosed, and therefore untreated. Fluoride has been shown to increase blood glucose levels and impair glucose tolerance, likely by inhibiting insulin […]

  • Gastrointestinal

It is well established that fluoride ingestion can cause a range of gastrointestinal (“GI”) symptoms, including nausea, pain, and vomiting. It is not yet understood, however, what level of fluoride in the stomach is necessary to cause these symptoms, and how much this level varies based on the sensitivity of the individual. In 2006, the National Research […]
